Healthy school meals are cooked on the premises and served in the dining area in the school hall at lunch times. Menus are available in advance and follow the Appetite for Life Government Guidance.
All monies for pupils should be brought to school in an envelope with the child’s name, amount and which days a meals is required.
Flintshire Education Authority offer free meals to children when special circumstances exist. Parents who are in receipt of Income Support, Jobseekers Allowance (Income Based), Employment and Support Allowance (Income Related), Pension Credit or Child Tax Credit (without Working Tax Credit) with an annual income of £16,190.00 or less may be entitled to free meals for their children. Application forms are available at the school office.
Facilities are available for children who wish to bring a healthy packed lunch to school (please do not send drinks in glass bottles). We encourage pupils to bring fruit and vegetables in their lunch boxes and there are stickers awarded to children with the healthiest lunch boxes. The pupils are supervised throughout their lunch break by a Senior Midday Supervisor and Midday Supervisory Assistants.
No child staying for a school meal, including sandwiches, is allowed out of school during the lunch period.
